December 1, 2007
Friday night and all day Saturday Will and I went to the concentrated birthing class that fits all 7 weeks into two sessions. We learned some new stuff and got a tour of the labor and delivery rooms which was good to see. Our next appointment will be on Friday Dec. 7th. We go every two weeks now so that's been fun. Less time to wait to hear the baby's heartbeat which is my favorite part.
It's hard to believe that there may only be one more 1st of the month photo, unless we manage a photo as we're running out the door for the delivery. No promises though!

Vermont Baby Shower
On Saturday Nov. 10th baby rancourt was 29 weeks old. Weighing in at about 2.25 lbs baby's size can be compared to that of a butternut squash. In the past two weeks we have had several doctors appointments with switching facilities due to the move. There was also a glucose test, rh factor shot and about 7 vials of blood drawn. Hopefully that will be all for the tests and blood work for a while.

A Shower for Baby Adams
This week baby rancourt is 26 weeks old. The baby's senses are now all complete and baby rancourt can open it's little eyes. At just under 2 lbs baby rancourt is plumping up in preparation for being a January baby.

October 1, 2007
On October 1st baby rancourt was 23 weeks old and Will and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. Time definitely flies by. This time next year baby rancourt will be 8 months old. I can't even imagine.
It was nice to come home after my week in Chicago. My dad was here to pick me up from the airport and he's going to stay with me until we head up to New England. He had the privilage of taking the October 1st photo!
Today was our 24 week check-up. At 24 weeks baby rancourt is the length of a carrot and in more alarming news I just read that my uterus is currently the size of a soccer ball. Yikes. At the appointment today my dad came with and got to hear the heart beat which was exciting. Everything is good and healthy and I'm right on target for my due date. I finally got to show my midwife some itchy spots on my elbows and legs only to be told it still just looks like eczema and I should see a dermatoligist for some fancy cream. Since it's been more of a nuisance I'll probably keep using my approved over the counter hydrocortisone cream.
Since I'm closing in on the third trimester I'm trying to enjoy all the energy I have as well as how great I feel. Hopefully it won't end too soon!

Chicago Baby Shower
This is a photo of me and Joel and Ami's baby Abi. I got to see her at the shower and since my Aunt Sandy babysits for her one day a week I got to spend an entire day with her. We were on the same nap schedule!
It was great to see all my family at the shower. Because of lucky timing Leah was in Chicago at the time of the shower visiting her brother-in-law and sister-in-law. She was able to make it to the shower which was really nice. We were able to take a photo comparing bellies at the 22 week mark.
I was in Chicago for an entire week which was great. I managed a trip downtown, This past week baby rancourt turned 23 weeks old. I've been feeling really good and the baby has been moving a lot which is fun. I have my next check-up on Friday so I'll post the photo we took on October first and another update after the appointment.

September 1, 2007
At 19 weeks baby rancourt is the length of a small zucchini and weighs about 8 1/2 ounces. The baby can now hear our voices. The most exciting thing that's happened is that I have been feeling the baby move. For a little while it was only slightly and only at night when I would lie in bed and concentrate on it. Since Friday the movements have been much more obvious and they happen all day. It's fantastic! Will hasn't been able to feel the movement yet but that should happen soon.
Now that it's September I'm getting very excited for my trip to Chicago. I haven't taken a full week off work since our honeymoon. I wish Will could come but next time. In Chicago I'll take lots of photos of Christa, Leah and my bellies. My friend Leah is coming to the shower all the way from Maine!

Registering
Ok....so first let me tell you about our latest appointment. We went in on Tuesday the 14th. Everything looks good and at that time baby Rancourt was the size of an avocado. We got to hear the heartbeat again which is always fun. As of yesterday we were at the 17 week mark and baby Rancourt is the size of a large onion...that's my least favorite food analogy yet.
Yesterday Will and I went to Babies 'R Us to register. Besides being totally overwhelmed with all the choices, some lady came up to us in the middle of our process and asked if we wanted our picture taken. We looked at each other and agreed...thinking this was sort of like how they take your photo at Six Flags and you can buy the key ring image viewer one your way out...oh no....this was a full on studio photo...I suppose it's their way of getting you to bring baby back once their born. Needless to say I had just gotten up from a nap and we had already been running around all morning and we were not really interested in starting our modeling careers but we felt bad saying no after we had agreed. So the photo to the right was the best result. Yikes. But on a good note we did register and it feels good to have it done. If all you mom's don't mind take a look and tell me what we missed or if you recommend a different kind of something.
Nikki and Phil are visiting this week. Spoiling their grand-dog and helping us work on the house.

August 1, 2007
This photo was taken at 7am before I had to drive to D.C. (3.5 hrs) for an afternoon meeting and then back in one day. That's a pretty big belly for having no food in it. This was also they day I realized my work shirts for meetings were all too tight. I had to do some shopping last weekend.
This was a big week as the baby is now the size of a lemon and it marked the official end of the first trimester. Baby Rancourt can now squint, frown or gimace and flex it's little hand and maybe even suck a thumb.
Our next appointment is August 14th...we're excited to hear the heartbeat again.

July 1, 2007 - 10 weeks
The first of July was a lazy Sunday. I was getting a little belly but it grew bigger after a meal. This was taken in the morning.
At 10 weeks baby Rancourt was the size of a strawberry.
At our July appointment we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It took a little while to find but once she found it we were so excited.
